Saving One Reptile at a Time...

Southern Reptile Saviors Rescue Inc is a registered 501c3 animal rescue located in coastal North Carolina. We consist of a group of volunteers who are passionate about saving the lives of homeless, unwanted, or injured reptiles. We foster, rehab, and rehome every type of reptile out there, from snakes to lizards and everything in between.

Meet our volunteers

Kimberly Alderman is our founder and president. She started this rescue as a family project back in 2009 and has spent many hours obtaining licenses and permits and creating partnerships with the community and companies willing to help. She is a licensed NC Wildlife Rehabilitator and is licensed to handle venomous snakes. She is also a proud member of USARK (US Association of Reptile Keepers).

Nicole Spencer runs our Iguana Rescue Team. She lives on a farm in Pender County where she spends much of her time spoiling all of our foster iguanas. She is dedicated to the preservation of this amazing species and is consistently researching and learning the newest science behind iguana care. She even spends a considerable amount of time organic gardening in order to cut down on feeding expenses and be able to offer only the best to her fosters. She too is a proud member of USARK.

Bruce Felker runs our Brunswick County Division. He fosters most of our snakes and other lizards. He has an amazing team of volunteers helping him care for all the animals he gets in on a daily basis. He does snake removals all over the surrounding counties, is authorized to handle venomous snakes, and works closely with state and local law enforcement on reptile related cases.
Southern Reptile Saviors Rescue Inc has a number of volunteers who help us 'behind the scenes', including a herpetologist, other licensed rehabbers, an amazing vet, and various companies. We could not do what we do with each and every one of our volunteers and associates. See our Sponsors page to learn more about them.
